Welcome to Smoke Free Warwickshire
Why tackle tobacco?
Smoking kills over 1000 people in Warwickshire every year and remains the leading cause of death and disability in the county. Breathing secondhand tobacco smoke causes the same diseases in non-smokers as
smokers (namely asthma, bronchitis, lung disease, heart disease, several types of cancer, circulatory disease and many others) and is a particular danger to babies, young children and pregnant women. Breathing tobacco smoke causes asthma, bronchitis, ear infections and cot death in babies and young children and slow foetal growth and a higher miscarriage risk in pregnancy.
Do you want to stop smoking? - A fresh start starts here!
You are up to four times more likely to succeed if use use products such as patches, gum, Zyban or Champix to reduce the cravings. Over 6,000 people have obtained help from NHS services in the last year.
